SERVO Lube Blending Plant at Trincomalee

In its endeavor to take forward the vision of Government of Sri Lanka to develop Trincomalee area into an economically and industrially developed zone, Lanka IOC is constructing a state-of–the-art Lube Blending Plant with a sophisticated laboratory facility inside the China Bay tank farm area at Trincomalee. The foundation stone for the plant was laid by Hon’ble Rohitha Bogollagama, Minister of Enterprise Development & Investment Promotion, GoSL on 7th January, 2007.

The plant being constructed with a capital outlay of SLR 500 Million will have a capacity to manufacture 18,000 MT per Annum of Lubricants. The plant will have the capability to manufacture all types of Automotive and Industrial Lubricants and is expected to go on stream by July 2007.

A Full fledged laboratory for testing base oils, additives and finished products is also being established. On commissioning of the plant, this unit will also function as a Customer service laboratory for analyzing the used lube oil samples and for condition monitoring .

SERVO brand of lubricants that will be blended in the plant, is the market leader in the Indian Lube industry, where all the leading multinational lubricant companies are operating. There are more than 2,000 SERVO lubricant formulations tailor-made for different automotive, industrial and marine applications. SERVO Lubricants enjoy the endorsements of world’s leading original equipment manufacturers like Suzuki, Hyundai, Wartsila, Ashok Leyland, TVS, Bajaj Auto, MAN B&W, ELGI , SKODA ,Volvo, etc.

The blending plant will import the basic raw material viz Base oils by tankers to be pumped to the storage tanks through piggable jetty pipeline being erected . The plant will have eight tanks of total capacity 6000 KL for storing base oils and three blending kettles for manufacture. Arrangements are also being made to import additives and other raw materials required through the Trincomalee harbour.

The blending plant will have four numbers of filling machines for 210 Litre barrels as well as small cans of various sizes ranging from ¼ Litre up to 50 Litre. The plant will also cater to requirements of large volume customers in bulk through bouzers.The filling machines from Autopack and Elder and the laboratory equipments are being imported and the construction of the plant is being undertaken by M/S Hayleys Industrial Solutions Ltd, Sri Lanka.

In Sri Lanka, SERVO enjoys the No. 2 position and with the commissioning of the lube blending plant the volume of business is expected to grow further. Lanka IOC believes in providing value for money to its customers and the Lube Blending Plant being constructed will go a long way in providing high quality Lubricants at reasonable prices to the motorists and industrial consumers of Sri Lanka.
