IndianOil leads India Inc. in Fortune's 'Global 500' listing for 2009
In a befitting acknowledgement of its ever-improving performance, and a crowning glory in its Golden Jubilee Year (1959-2009), IndianOil has moved up 11 places, in the just-released Fortune 'Global 500' list of world's largest companies by sales for the year 2009. Placed at 105, IndianOil leads the pack of seven Indian companies appearing in the list that is based on the performance in the year 2008, all made possible by a 35000 - strong team of IndianOil People.

NITROGEN FILLING
The first Nitrogen Filling facility was made available at the Lanka IOC PLC retail outlet at Felix Perera & Son, Alexander Place, Colombo 07, which was inaugurated by LIOC Chairman Mr S V Narasimhan on 22nd May 2009. This facility is also available at H K S Ranasinghe Retail Outlet, Galle Road, Bambalapitiya.
SERVO XPRESS STATION
The First ServoXpress Service Station, a branded service station is in operation at the Lanka IOC PLC retail outlet at No.291, Dr Danister De Silva Mawatha, Colombo 09, which was launched on 23rd May 2009. This is the first time that such a branded service station is being set up at a Petrol Filling Station in Sri Lanka. Lanka IOC PLC plans to introduce more such service stations in the other outlets, covering all regions.
LANKA IOC PLC, ENTERED INTO A PARTNERSHIP WITH - AJANTHA MENDIS
Lanka IOC PLC, entered into a partnership with Sri Lanka’s newest sports star- Ajantha Mendis, appointing him as the brand ambassador for Lanka IOC, Servo Lubricants and its range of branded fuels and value added services , Xtra Premium Petrol, Xtra Mile Diesel, XtraCare, Servo Xpress, Xtra Power and Xtra Rewards.
Ajantha Mendis and Lanka IOC PLC can be described as two peas in a pod, symbolizing world class performance, innovative service and perfection. Ajantha Mendis who has won worldwide recognition and admiration for his consistent performance and passion for perfection, both on the field and off it, was the ideal choice as he reflects the vision and values of Lanka IOC PLC.

The agreement was signed in the presence of S.V.Narasimhan Chairman of Lanka IOC and the Board of Directors at Hotel Taj Samudra on 04th December 2008.A number of CEOs and VVIPs from the corporate world took part in the signing ceremony.
THE LMD 50
LMD magazine publication, ranking Lanka IOC PLC as the 1st company in the year 2007/2008 appears in the 15th Annual Special Edition of LMD.
BRAND AMBASSADOR 2006 - 2008
Sri Lanka's cricketing icon Muttiah Muralitharan signed up a lucrative sponsorship deal with Lanka IOC (Indian Oil Company) to be their brand ambassador at a ceremony held at Taj Samudra.

FOXHILL SUPPERCROSS 2008 CO-SPONSORED BY LANKA IOC PLC
Fox Hill Super Cross 2008, Sri Lanka’s 4 x 4 motor sporting event in the hill country was held in Nuwara Eliya on the 16th April. The event organized by Four Wheel Drive Club of Sri Lanka is expected to draw 30 competitors taking up the challenge to become the champion.
April is considered to be the spring festive season in the hill country where thousands of local and foreign tourists visit Nuwara Eliya, the picturesque city lies over 2000m above the sea level.
The mega motor sporting event in Sri Lanka, the Fox Hill Super Cross organized by Sri Lanka Army and Automobile Association of Sri Lanka was held on 19th April at famous Fox Hill track in Diyathalawa. The event was co-sponsored by Lanka IOC PLC.
